Movement is such a powerful word for it releases a sense of freedom which stirs us into action. God created us for movement and from the very moment of conception, we are multiplying, our cells dividing and then reuniting for divine purpose to be released. His purpose was placed in each one of us; it is unique to the individual yet meant to work in His united body. In this article, we will delve into Sound, Intercession and Prophecy and how they are integral to our movement together as the Body of Christ.
I charge you to be still and listen for the sound of His voice for our strategies are released in this place of renewed strength. Isaiah 40:31 says that “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” This is the key for effective intercession for as we sit, waiting for Him to stir the waters, He is preparing the catalyst for our transition into movement.
Don’t you love how He works? In the stillness, He is already moving us into the new place … it says that we “shall” be … that we “SHALL” … mount up, run and walk!
One definition of intercession is to intervene on behalf of one another. This is that! God is intervening on our behalf as we wait in the midst of Him and we, as good stewards of the words we are hearing from Him, intervene on behalf of those and of that which He has placed on our hearts to intercede for. What does this mean? It means that we have to go to the source FIRST! Let’s look at John 5:19 – 20 in the Passion translation.
“So, Jesus said, ‘I speak to you timeless truth. The Son is not able to do anything from himself or through my own initiative. I only do the works that I see the Father doing, for the Son does the same works as his Father. Because the Father loves his Son so much, he always reveals to me everything that he is about to do. And you will all be amazed when he shows me even greater works than what you’ve seen so far!”
As sons of God, we must not move out of this holy paradigm for the sound of His voice will deposit works into us that we are to prophecy into. Hearing, we then speak forth in the creative breath that releases His plans and purposes onto the earth. Prophesy!!! Release the greater works into that which you are interceding for and you will see movement for He has already set it in motion. This is sound, intercession and prophecy in action.
The principle works on a personal level yet is very effective when initiated by the greater body. God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters.” (Genesis 1) Firmament is a supporting structure; it reinforces, aids, and assists that which is being created. Do you know that one cannot properly build without support? Who or what are you connected to that bears your creative work and what or whose creative work do you bear? For each of us needs a firmament that will bear witness to who and what we are just as we are meant to be a firmament and bear witness to others and their purposes.
We were not created to be isolated for, “The body is a unit comprised of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.” (1 Corin 12:12)
Romans 12:5-6 in the Passion translation says, “For though we are many, we’ve been mingled into one body in Christ. This means that we are all vitally joined to one another, with each contributing to the others. God’s marvelous grace imparts to each one of us varying gifts and ministries that are uniquely ours. So if God has given you the grace-gift of prophecy, you must activate your gift by using the proportion of faith you have to prophesy.”
This being said, it is important that you are utilizing your sound, your intercession and your prophetic decrees amongst those whom you are meant to be connected with. The finger bone’s connected to the hand bone, the hand bone’s connected to the arm bone! The arm bone is not connected to the foot bone and dem bones won’t shake unless they’re in the proper order. We are all one body yet need to be directly connected to the perfect part in order for movement to take place.
And … when we are properly connected there is a catalyst movement of unprecedented proportions! Keep the song of Moses close to your heart as the desire is for us to be wise and discern our future. One chases a thousand and two ten thousand; yes, we are multiplicitous when working together. As bond servants, laying down our lives for Him and for one another, our forward movement is unstoppable!
Venture out into the greater body, knowing that His holiness is in the midst of the the wondrous creation that we are together.
