Covenant, Authority and Action
Did you ever imagine that you would be asked by God to speak His heart? That you would be given that authority that comes as part of the covenant we have with God, through Jesus? To me, that is like the power of attorney my husband & I would put into effect when he went off to war. My name became the signature of authority. While we would hope to be able to discuss a matter, I was ultimately responsible for putting it into action.
Today, God is looking for and working with intercessors like you to work with Him in bringing down decrees from Heaven and establishing His will into the Earth realm. Those who will co-labor with Him and properly handle the authority and responsibility they are given. Those who will speak what He says, as He directs them to say it. This intercession comes out of the heart of God and into your heart. It is intimate, intensive, strategic conversation with God that leads to the proclamations and declarations of decrees coming out of the courts and councils of Heaven and released to prophetic intercessors who have made themselves ready and available to Him.
“And give Him no rest (from your prayers) until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her a praise on the earth.” Isaiah 62:7
God’s Original Intent for Mankind
In his book, Intercessory Prayer, Dutch Sheets refers to Genesis 1:26-28 to explain delegated authority and dominion.
“Adam was comparable to or similar to God—so much like God that it was illusionary. God was recognized in Adam, which meant that Adam “carried the weight” here on earth. Adam represented God, presenting again His will on the earth. Adam was God’s governor or manager here. The earth was Adam’s assignment—it was under Adam’s charge or care. Adam was the watchman or guardian. How things went on planet Earth, for better or for worse, depended on Adam and his offspring.”
God’s Original Intent for You
The Garden is still God’s dream. And, I don’t know about you, but I want to see His dream come true! So, let’s look at the position of prophetic intercession, and you as a prophetic intercessor, in the working out of His desires for Earth. This is a new season and intercession that comes out of our limited knowledge and things that worked in the past, is not enough. But intercession that originates in Heaven, is directed and managed by Heaven, creates a position that can be carried out by those on Earth who are surrendered, submitted, and in agreement with God. The ones He can trust and who trust Him. God has created you with innate abilities and capabilities to accomplish everything He has planned for you. We have barely tapped into those abilities and capabilities! They enable us to hear His voice, get His perspectives and directives (authoritative direction), and bring them into the earth realm. His original intent for every born-again child of God is the same as for Adam.
But if Adam couldn’t fulfill it, how can I?
1. Jesus’ part
“He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ!” Ephesians 2:6 The Passion Translation
“And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus.” Amplified Version
So, precious one, you have access to the heavenly realm through Jesus.
2. Your part
Whether you are already a prophetic intercessor, or you are stirred to find out more, here are some things to consider as you go forward into this season.
“People are known in this same way. Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. But out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words” Luke 6:45 TPT
- Do I have a Kingdom worldview?
- Do I know my identity; how God sees me?
- Do I have an intimate relationship with God and His word?
- Am I willing to ask Him to search my heart? (Psalm 139:23,24)
- Do I have a love that desires to see His dream come true?
- Am I willing to trust and obey God down to the smallest detail?
At this moment in time we are surrounded with so many different voices, emotions, and opinions, which can be manipulating, controlling, and distracting. God is inviting you to come up higher, and to get above all this. Begin to see from His perspective, intercede from a higher position, and co-labor with Him.
